China Purchasing & Consolidation

Send us the photos. We buy from Chinese sellers on your behalf, check the goods when they reach our warehouse in China, combine everything into one parcel, and send it on to your address. We are a purchasing agent — not a shop, and not the seller of the goods you order.

Three things stand between you and the thing you want

It is almost never the price. It is the plumbing — and you should not have to learn it to buy a lamp, a roll of silk or a set of tea cups.

1. The shop will not sell to you

Taobao, Tmall, Pinduoduo and most 1688 suppliers are built for buyers with a Chinese phone number, a domestic address and Alipay verification. Without those you can look at the page for as long as you like — you still cannot press buy.
What we do: we order with our own Chinese accounts and pay the seller in RMB on your behalf. What that means for you: you send a photo and you are done. No account, no Chinese friend to ask, no verification maze.

2. Even when you can buy it, it will not come to you

The overwhelming majority of Chinese sellers ship inside China only. The international leg, the paperwork and the customs questions are left to you — and a private buyer abroad is usually told “we don’t ship there”.
What we do: everything you order lands at our warehouse in China. We receive it, check it, photograph it and hand it to an international line with the customs documents prepared. What that means for you: you finally have a Chinese address that works, and one parcel to watch instead of five.

3. One order at a time is where your money disappears

Every separate parcel carries its own international minimum charge, so five small orders can cost more in freight than the goods did. That is the real reason “buying from China” feels expensive.
What we do: we combine sellers into a single parcel, strip the surplus cartons and filler you would otherwise pay freight on, and charge on the greater of actual or volumetric weight at the carrier’s real rate. What that means for you: one parcel, one freight charge — and every gram we take off is money you keep.

And the thing people actually worry about is not buying — it is being left in the dark: paying and then hearing nothing for a month, or watching a parcel sit at customs over a declaration nobody explained. So we photograph your goods before they ship, state the duty position on your quote, declare every parcel at its real value, and print our 5% fee on the invoice. If an item turns out to be a replica, we decline the order — because a seized parcel helps nobody.

You do two things: send the photos, and approve the quote. We do the rest, in Chinese.

What this service is

Most Chinese sellers on Taobao, 1688 or Pinduoduo will not ship abroad, and many will not sell without a Chinese account and a domestic address. We act as your buyer on the ground:

  • we place the order with the Chinese seller in RMB and pay for it on your behalf;
  • the goods are delivered to our warehouse in China, where we check them for obvious damage, wrong colour or wrong quantity;
  • we photograph what arrived, remove the extra shipping packaging, and combine parcels from different sellers into one shipment;
  • we prepare the customs documents and hand the parcel to an international line, then give you the tracking number.

Everything is quoted first and paid before we buy. You approve the quote; we do the rest in Chinese.

Who it suits

Our customers are usually buying things that are hard to find outside China — incense and tea ware, Chinese home décor and ceramics, hanfu and accessories, fabric and craft supplies, stationery, DIY kits, and small gifts. We also handle small trade orders: if you run a shop and want a handful of items from a Chinese supplier to test, this is the same service.

We are a small studio, not a marketplace. We take a limited number of orders at a time and we answer questions ourselves.

What we can buy — and what we won’t

General goods: clothing and accessories, home textiles and décor, ceramics and glassware, stationery, craft supplies and DIY materials, fabric, hardware and tools, non-electronic gifts. Higher-risk categories (liquids, cosmetics, food, goods with lithium batteries, anything needing certification) we review case by case, and some lines cannot carry them at all.

We do not accept counterfeit or trademark-infringing goods, weapons, tobacco or vape products, medicines, live plants or animals, or anything a destination country prohibits. If an item turns out to be a replica, we decline the order — it protects your parcel from being seized and our account from being frozen. The full list is on our Prohibited Items page.

What it costs

  • Purchasing service fee — 5% of the item price, minimum $5 per order. First order with us: 3%.
  • Packing and consolidation — $2–5 per parcel, depending on size and how much repacking is needed. Combining several orders into one is included.
  • International freight — charged at the carrier’s actual rate for your weight and destination. We do not add a margin on top of the freight.
  • Currency — your payment is converted at a rate with a mark-up of no more than 1.5% over the mid-market rate. The rate we used is shown on your quote.
  • Optional extras — extra inspection photos, testing a seller, reinforced packing, longer storage. We tell you the price before we do any of it.

Import duty, VAT or sales tax charged by your country is not included — see below. We don’t price by hiding charges in the freight; the biggest number in your quote is the carrier’s, not ours.

Customs and import duty in 2026

This has changed recently and it matters:

  • United States — the $800 “de minimis” exemption, which used to let small parcels enter duty-free, was suspended in 2025 and made indefinite in 2026. Low-value parcels now go through customs entry and duties are payable, in addition to the tariffs that apply to Chinese-origin goods. Parcels valued at $1 and $799 are treated the same way.
  • European Union — the €150 duty relief ended on 1 July 2026 and was replaced by a flat per-item duty during the transition period.
  • United Kingdom — the £135 low-value duty relief is still in place; import VAT rules still apply.
  • Canada — the duty-free threshold is very low, so almost every commercial parcel is assessed.

The recipient is the importer. Any duty, VAT or clearance fee your customs authority charges is your responsibility, paid to them — not to us, and not included in our quote. We declare every parcel honestly at its real value and description. We do not under-declare, and we don’t offer “duty-free” channels: mis-declaration is what gets parcels held or destroyed, and under the rules in force in 2026 it is being checked far more closely than before.

Because these rules keep changing, we don’t quote an expected duty amount. Your local customs authority or a duty calculator using your product’s HS code is the accurate source. Ask us and we’ll tell you the declared value and HS description we intend to use before we ship.

Also from us

We keep a small collection of Chinese-inspired pieces in stock — incense and fragrance, calming home décor, craft kits and metal fidget pieces. Those are ordinary shop items with fixed prices and a checkout: visit the shop. The purchasing service is for everything else.

Common questions

Do I need a Chinese account or a Chinese address?

No. You need a photo of the item — or just the product name — from Taobao, Tmall, 1688 or Pinduoduo. We buy with our own domestic account and have the goods delivered to our warehouse in China. You never need Alipay or a Chinese phone number.

How do I pay?

We send you a quote by email with a payment link. Payment is taken up front — we only buy from the Chinese seller once your payment has cleared, which is what protects both sides. All payment options available to you are shown on the payment page at the time.

Can I combine items from several different sellers?

Yes, and it is usually worth it. You can keep adding items while your first parcel is still in the warehouse, and we combine everything into one shipment at the end. Consolidation is included in the packing fee, and it is often the single biggest saving on the freight.

What if the seller sends the wrong item or something arrives damaged?

We photograph what arrives and tell you before shipping. Where the seller is at fault, we open the return or exchange with them in Chinese and handle the messages. Our inspection is a visual check for obvious problems — we do not test electronics, and we cannot guarantee the quality of goods made by someone else.

How long does it take?

Buying and warehouse handling typically takes 3–7 days. International transit depends on the line you choose — economy air is usually measured in working days, and faster express lines cost more. We tell you the estimated transit time for your route before you approve the quote, and we give you the tracking number when the parcel leaves.
